Community Service Bursary Program – grade 10-12 can earn bursary money for volunteering in their community. Students need to register with the program prior to starting hours. Students can collect up to 150 hours and earn up to $1500 in bursary money by the end of grade 12.

PEI Farm Team– interested in working a farm job as summer employment? Contact PEI Farm team to pass along your contact information, who will then pass it along to farmers looking for laborers. You can earn a $500-$1000 bursary at the time of your graduation upon successful completion.

Team Seafood– are you working in a seafood processing plant this summer? If you register with this program you can earn at $500-$1000 bursary. Click on the link to find out more information.

| International Women's Day- PEI Regiments Open House- March 9th, 1pm |
The Prince Edward Island Regiment (RCAC) will be hosting an International Women’s Day open house on March 9, 2025, at 1:00 pm. The open house will take place at the Lieutenant-Colonel J. David Stewart DSO, ED, CD Armoury in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, with support from 33 Field Ambulance, The Halifax Rifles and 36 Signal Regiment. This event will be led by female members of the Canadian Armed Forces from our region, to showcase and recognize the contribution of these women locally, nationally, and internationally, and foster an understanding of the opportunities available for women who wish to serve in the CAF. The goals of this event include the following: Leveraging personal experiences of uniformed women through an interactive and immersive learning experience, attempting to create synergy between the CAF and community representatives; Creating a shared experience in the spirit of inclusivity and equality within the community by highlighting the various occupations available for women that are considering careers in the CAF; Raising awareness of the skills and achievements of women serving in the CAF and recognizing them in the workplace to the local population; and Informing the public about misconceptions they may have about military service and break down some of the barriers that may discourage women from joining the CAF. The event will begin with women speaking about their experiences serving in differing military trades. Attendees will have the opportunity to tour displays where they will see how equipment is used and try their hand at some soldier skills. The evening will finish with an informal gathering on the armoury floor, where our soldiers will answer attendee’s questions. We ask that those interested pre-register for this event, so we may send you an information package via email. The same email address will also be used in the event of inclement weather necessitating a postponement or cancellation; it will not be used for any other purpose. | Our Landing Place Parent and Youth Support Group |
We are excited to announce the launch of a new resource to support parents and caregivers of 2SLGBTQIA+ (Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual, and other diverse sexual orientations and gender identities) youth in our community. If you have folks in mind that you think may benefit from this drop in group, we invite you to please share the following information with them! Facilitated by Jess Sherman, Our Landing Place is hosting a Drop-In Group for parents who want to connect, share experiences, and learn more about how to provide a safe and affirming environment for their 2SLGBTQIA+ children. Details to provide to parents in the PEI community Date: Starting October 1, 2023 Monthly meetings for 6 months Time: (Sundays) 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm AST What to Expect: A safe and confidential space to share thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Resources and information to better understand and support your child. Opportunities to connect with other parents who are on similar journeys. Guidance on navigating school-related issues and advocating for your child's needs .Who Can Attend: This group is open to all parents, guardians, and caregivers in the Prince Edward Island school district who have 2SLGBTQIA+ children or want to learn more about supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ youth. How to Join: The group is limited to 10 participants Deadline to apply is September 25, 2023. Spots will be offered on a first-come-first-served basis and we will keep a short wait list for folks who would like to be considered for a cancellation spot.
