The selection of a Loran Scholar is unique in its attention to a young person’s character. They believe that integrity, courage, grit and personal autonomy are better indicators of overall potential than standard academic measures. 

• Be in your final year of uninterrupted full-time studies in high school.
• Present a minimum cumulative average of 85%.
• Hold Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status.
• Be at least 16 years of age by September 1st of the following year.

The selection of National Scholars is based on superior academic performance, original and creative thought, and exceptional extra-curricular achievement in a broad context. The National Scholarship competition is open to all interested Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons in their final year of secondary school.

If a student plans on taking a gap year, they may apply to the National Scholarship (and for university admission) during their final year of secondary school and then request an admission deferral

Applicants must have demonstrated leadership in facilitating community engagement on behalf of the Kidney Foundation and wish to use this opportunity to further their personal and professional development. 

The scholarship will provide one-time financial support of up to $1,000 to assist the successful candidate’s enrollment in a related educational program

The Harvey Thomson Scholarship- This scholarship, open to candidates from within Canada, is awarded annually to a volunteer or employee to further their training in one or more of the following disciplines:

• Community development
• Organizational development
• Organizational change management
• Policy Governance / Corporate Governance / Organizational Governance / Public Administration & Governance

Applicants must have demonstrated leadership in facilitating community, group and individual engagement on behalf of The Kidney Foundation and must wish to use this opportunity to further their personal and professional development. 

The scholarship will provide one-time financial support of up to $1,000 to assist the successful candidate’s enrollment in a related educational program.

TD Scholarships for Community Leadership are open to students across Canada who:

• Have demonstrated community leadership
• Are in the final year of high school (outside Quebec) or CEGEP (in Quebec)
• Have a minimum overall grade average of 75% in their most recently completed school year

Provincial 4-H Council Scholarship 

• One $1000 scholarship awarded to a 4-H member in good standing, graduating from a recognized Island school of learning in the year in which the scholarship is awarded

• One $1000 scholarship awarded to a 4-H member in good standing, graduating from a recognized Island school of learning in the year in which the scholarship is awarded

​Cavendish Agri Services - PEI 4-H Trust Scholarships:

• Two scholarships of $1000 awarded to Grade 12 student​s

• Two scholarships of $1000 awarded to students who are currently enrolled in/returning to Post-Secondary Education in the fall of 2023

• One scholarship of $1000 awarded to either a grade 12 student or a student enrolled in/returning to Post-Secondary Education in the fall of 2023

To be eligible to apply for the Horatio Alger Canadian Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Be enrolled full-time as a high school grade 11 or first-year CEGEP student in Canada
• Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree program at an accredited university
• Prove critical financial need ($65,000 or less annual net income per family is required)
• Demonstrate desire and ability to be entrepreneurial in a chosen field
• Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities
• Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity
• Maintain a minimum grade percentage of 70
• Be Canadian citizens

  visual arts school

Planning to enroll in a STEM program at one of their partner universities.  Academic excellence and leadership, charisma and creativity.  Strong consideration will be given to those with financial need.  You must be entrepreneurial minded and intend to pursue a career in one or more of the following areas:

RBC Future Launch Scholarship Program

Funds may be used for supporting a wide range of learning opportunities, such as short-term courses, workshops, certificates, or online training – and their associated costs (tuition, books, tools, travel, etc.).

The IWK Foundation invites applications for the Robbie and Jean Shaw Scholarship. This award consists of a scholarship valued at a minimum of $2,000.

Eligible applicants are current or former IWK patients with an academic average of 75 per cent or higher and are entering their first year of post-secondary studies.

Applicants must submit a minimum 500-word essay answering the following question: How has your experience at the IWK impacted your life and shaped your goals for the future?

Seven $2,500 scholarships annually to Canadian students who are entering or currently pursuing an agricultural related program full-time at a Canadian college, university or apprenticeship (trade) institution.

Scholarships are awarded to students based on a combination of leadership attributes, and an essay or video response to the question “Name a challenge that you think agriculture can help solve. How will your future career in agriculture allow you to play a role in solving that program?”

The Foundation is looking to support candidates who demonstrate the following:

• A dedication to their studies with a track record of academic success
• A well-rounded lifestyle including non-academic interests and community involvement

The YEAR | ONE Program will award 10 bursaries worth $2,500 each to encourage and support first-year students as they embark on their academic journey.

Application 

Qualifications: Good Academic standings with an 80 plus average, Diligent Student, Active volunteer with in the Town of Borden-Carleton.

Requirements: Be a resident of Borden-Carleton. A letter of residency will be required from the Town office, Graduating from High School and going on to attend post – secondary, A copy of the university/college acceptance letter, Write a 250 word minimum letter of intent (name, address, future plans, involvement in school, and community), Transcripts of your marks.

Qualified applicants must either be a graduating high school senior or have graduated from high school within the past two years. Applicants must be enrolled in a college-level program, university or an accredited automotive program. Students must be enrolled full-time for the year of the scholarship.  You must be enrolled for September of the year you are applying until April of the following year. Priority will be given to those pursuing a career in the automotive aftermarket.

Civic Leadership Scholarship- $10 000- Awarding students who have demonstrated academic success, personal strength, and determination in their commitment to civic engagement and leadership.

Indigenous Student Scholarship- $10 000- Awarding First Nation, Métis and Inuit student leaders who have demonstrated academic success, personal strength, with the intent to pursue post-secondary studies in Education.

The tourism/hospitality industry scholarship of $1000.00 is available to residents of Prince Edward Island enrolled at an educational institute on or off Island. This scholarship is financed by members of the Tourism Industry Association of PEI.

The objective of the tourism/hospitality industry scholarship is to attract additional professional workers to Prince Edward Island’s tourism industry.
