To celebrate Canadian School Library Week, we are going to have a BOOKFACE PHOTO CONTEST. Bookface involves strategically lining up your face alongside a book cover so that there appears a melding of life and art. Winners will be announced on Friday. Great prizes to be won.  How to play:

1. Replace your face with a book cover and take a picture.

2. Email your picture to sdtremere@edu.pe.ca by Thursday. 

October is Learning Disabilities (LD) Awareness Month. To raise awareness of Learning Disabilities, we will be having daily trivia questions this week. Each day will be a new question. All students are encouraged to participate. Ballot box is in the office and the draw will take place at the end of the school day. Prize winners will receive a $10 Tim Horton’s card.

Congratulations to Matthew Murphy who was yesterday's winner. Matthew knew that Dysgraphia is a learning disability that impacts writing.

Ms. McCarthy and Lori are starting up a GSA group and we want to invite everyone who is interested in participating. You don't have to be part of the LGBT2S community, maybe you want to learn more, or explore who you are. If so, please join us from 11:20-12:05 on Wednesdays in the Resource Room. Starting this Wed, Oct 27. Bring your lunch and a friend! 

Blazer Buds is back!!!! Blazer buds group will be carving pumpkins on Thursday from 3-4 in the Resource Room. Everyone is welcome, please sign up in the office. Listen for further announcements on various after school groups. We are also having a lunch group, called The Blazer Buds Baking Club! It will start on Monday, Nov 1 from 11:20-12:10 in the foods lab, upstairs and will run until Christmas. Please sign up weekly in the office, spaces will be limited.  See Lori if you have any questions!

The blood chug will take place Thursday, at 12:00 in the cafeteria. Teams of four will compete. The first 8 teams who sign up on the sheet located outside the office door will participate. The winning team will receive a chocolate bar for each member. To quench your thirst, chug the blood first.

Get your costume ready as Friday will be our Halloween dress up day. There will be individual prizes for the two best dressed in each grade, and there will be prizes for the best dressed pair, trio, and group (of four or more people) in the whole school. Students are reminded you are not to have any weapons or replica weapons. Also, you will still be required to wear a non-medical mask with your costume during break times.

The student council would like to thank all students who sold pies. Your support is greatly appreciated. In total, we sold 2580 pies. Congratulations to the following students who won prizes for selling pies in this year’s pie fundraiser. Jase Sherry will receive a $100 gift card, Alex & Jacob McLeod will receive a $75 gift card, and Ashley DesRoches will receive a $50 gift card. The draw prize winners were Malcolm Ross, Lilla Johnston, Brianna Hughes, Quianna Harvey and Heidi Eggert. Each will receive a $25 gift card to a store of their choice. There will be an ice cream social at a later date for those who sold 15 or more pies. Pies will be ready for pick up on Wednesday, November 17th from 3:30 - 6:00 pm at the Kinkora Fire Hall. Students will pick up the pies they sold and deliver them to their customers.
