ANNOUNCEMENTS

Monday, October 25th

A reminder to all students to please bring a reusable mask to school. We are going through far too many disposable masks in the office.

Get your costume ready as Friday will be our Halloween dress up day. There will be individual prizes for the two best dressed in each grade, and there will be prizes for the best dressed pair, trio, and group (of four or more people) in the whole school. Students are reminded not to have any weapons or replica weapons. Also, you will still be required to wear a non-medical mask with your costume during break times.

October is Learning Disabilities (LD) Awareness Month. To raise awareness of Learning Disabilities, we will be having daily trivia questions this week. Each day will be a new question. All students are encouraged to put in a ballot. Ballot box is in the office and the draw will take place at the end of the school day. Prize winners will receive a $10 Tim Horton’s card.

Today's question is...

Dysgraphia is…

a)    A learning disability that effects writing

b)    A learning disability that effects reading

c)     A learning disability that effects speech

d)    A learning disability that effects memory

Best of luck to the boys soccer and the girls Kishora soccer teams as they play their semi-final games today.

Today (October 25) is Canadian School Library Day! The K.R.H.S. library is open every day before school, during class, at breaks, at noon, and after school. We have a great collection of both fiction and non-fiction so be sure to check it out. Blazer Book Club meets every Friday from 11:45 to 12 noon in the Library. All are welcome!! To celebrate Canadian School Library Day, we are going to have a BOOKFACE PHOTO CONTEST. Bookface involves strategically lining up your face alongside a book cover so that there appears a melding of life and art.

  • How to play:
    1. Replace your face with a book cover and take a picture.
    2. Email your picture to
    sdtremere@edu.pe.ca by Thursday.

  • Winners will be announced on Friday. Great prizes to be won.

As we mentioned on the first day of school, we will be starting a new initiative this year called the Blazer Brigades. All KRHS students have been divided into one of four groups with a mix of students from grades 9-12. These groups will work together on challenges, team events, and competitions. Your first Brigade challenge will be to collect food for our annual 'K.R.H.S. Drive Away Hunger' Food Drive. We will also have a Brigade activity this Thursday during Flex.

Happy belated birthday to Madison MacAusland (Oct 23), Ashley DesRoches (Oct 24)
