. Tomorrow last class, the student council election will take place for the position of president. The two students running for president are Addyson Rogers and Evan Longuepee. Only students in grades 9, 10, and 11 will vote during their last class.

2. The Blazer Showdown will be at noon in the gym next week from May 4th to May 8th. Each day the event will consist of only 8 students from each grade competing against each other. The event involves each competitor accumulating points for successfully making basketball free throws, throwing balls through a hoop, trying to score on Holi the Goalie, and kicking soccer balls at bowling pins. There is a wild card round for the second-place finishers in each grade where they will compete against each other, and the winner will earn a spot in the finals. The finalists from each grade along with the wildcard winner will compete to see who the winner is. Today, the student council will go around last class to explain how the event will work. During that time, students can submit their names to be put into a draw to be a competitor, and 8 names will be selected from each grade to compete in the event. Teachers wishing to compete can also submit their names. All competitors will be notified in the morning announcements when they compete, and their names will be posted outside the office.
